Solar techno in Basel

When the sun shines on it, the most beautiful solar module ever made shines in an infinite range of colours. After a long period of planning and implementation, the Office for Environment and Energy proves that photovoltaics also work in Basel’s Old Town, both technologically and aesthetically. This publication presents the building and the long evolutionary process of the facade. And it asks the question: will technology really save us?

  • Electricity and aesthetics: the new UAE building in Basel
  • Journey among planners, designers and artisans
  • David Chipperfield on the future of his profession

The publication is not available in English, but is available in German, French and Italian as a print or pdf version.
