We would like to introduce you to the Polis Care Centre.

The new facility was inaugurated in the autumn of 2021 and accommodates a medical residence for the elderly with 114 beds, a day centre for people suffering from senile dementia, the new headquarters of the Social Support Service (SAS) of the Municipality of Lugano and a nursery.

The new multifunctional centre in Pregassona is, at present (March 2022), the cantonal public building with the largest photovoltaic system integrated in the facades, with an installed power of about 170 kWp, corresponding to a surface area of over 1,600 square metres.

The photovoltaic installation was developed under the coordination of the Advanced Building Skin Team of the Institute of Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment (ISAAC) of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), with the support of the Renewable Energy Fund of the Canton and of the City of Lugano, and in collaboration with AIL SA, Alsolis SA and Sunage SA.
