Interreg V-A Italy-Switzerland “BIPV meets History” cross-border project

SUPSI Institute for Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment (ISAAC) participates in the Interreg V-A Italy-Switzerland “BIPV meets History” cross-border project.

 

The “BIPV meets History” project, approved as part of Axis I – Business Competitiveness, of the Interreg VA Italy-Switzerland 2014-2020 Cooperation Program, aims to increase cross-border collaboration between companies, research centres and public bodies, to create a cross-border value chain and market with the aim to favour the spread and use of integrated photovoltaic solar technologies in the refurbishment of the existing building and landscape heritage, with the aim of integrating and modernizing the economic system of the area and strengthening its competitiveness.

 

The project will be carried out by the SUPSI Institute for applied sustainability to the built environment in collaboration with the EURAC Research, the European Academy of Bolzano and the Government from the Lombardy Region in Italy. Together with a broad partnership of excellence, quality and innovation in the industrial sector of Ticino, linked to the photovoltaic supply chain with companies such as SUNAGE SA and Solar Retrofit Sagl, the engineering company GreenKey Sagl and DeltaZero Architects and with import regional institutions such as the TicinoEnergia Association that works to support the cantonal energy policy, operating in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

 

Several actions are planned in line with the New Swiss Regional Policy (NPR) and the objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy that will exploit the added value in the area (Ticino-Alto Adige-Lombardia) and the complementarity of expertise between public bodies, research institutions and construction and photovoltaic companies. The creation of a skills interconnected system and targeted networking events for solar energy companies and SMSE enterprises related to the construction sector will serve to identify potential new markets, develop business models and identify products, service and process innovation scenarios for the improvement of competitiveness and the internationalization, favouring cross-border cooperation.
