Series of publications by Hochparterre on solar architecture – January 2018

Nobody needs to know that it is a solar house

  • The Solaris building by Huggenbergerfries architects
  • A researcher, a planner and a manufacturer made the Solaris building possible
  • Hermann Czech a “solar” architect? A conversation

A real revolution is taking place. For the first time, the Solaris residential building combines the high living standards of Zurich architects with the stringent requirements of the solar energy industry regarding energy transition. What is important: Solaris is a power station, which produces its own energy. But more importantly: even without the photovoltaic façade and roof, the building – located opposite the ‘Rote Fabrik’ cultural centre – would be the product of excellent architecture.

The publication is not available in English, but is available in German, French and Italian as a print or PDF version.
