SOL(AR)CHITECTURE – voices

2 October 2025

This webinar series is developed by SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland) within the European project INPERSO. Source: SUPSI.

VOICES” represents the new vision of knowledge exploring the evolution of photovoltaics in architecture – fast, interactive and inspiring. It brings authentic perspectives from leading voices in the sector, turning experience into forward-looking insight.

How is the role of photovoltaics in architecture evolving?

The new initiative SOL(AR)CHITECTURE – voices, launched by SUPSI within the European project INPERSO, introduces a fresh format to explore this transformation: short, dynamic, and interactive sessions where knowledge turns into vision and the experience of pioneers becomes a tool to imagine the future.

Far from the traditional webinar model, each episode alternates thought-provoking talks with direct dialogue between guest speakers and the audience. At the core of the format are the “Impossible Questions”: queries collected live and addressed to the guests, challenging conventional ideas and opening the way to new perspectives. The focus is not on limits or barriers, but on solutions and future visions, shared directly by pioneers and protagonists of research, design and industry.

The series unfolds over three episodes:

  • Innovation First (October 23rd // h.12-13)
40 years of photovoltaics as a building material: lessons learned from breakthroughs and failures and how to anticipate the next years.
  • Beauty & the Building (November 12th // h.12-13)
The art of making energy invisible without compromising architectural quality.
  • Material Revolution (December 3rd // h.12-13)
New materials reshaping photovoltaics, from industrial practice to architectural design.

Each 50-minute session is structured around two main parts: a focused talk followed by an open exchange with participants. Attendance is online and free, upon registration, and open to students, professionals, architects, urban planners, developers and researchers. A certificate of participation will be issued to those attending all three episodes.

With VOICES, Solarchitecture and INPERSO open a collective space of reflection for those envisioning a future where buildings and cities evolve into true solar machines.
