Google Bay View Campus in Mountain View, designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studio, characterized by its sculptural photovoltaic roof inspired by dragonfly wings and clad with solar tiles developed by the Swiss company SunStyle.
The Dragon Scale roof integrates about 90.000 solar tiles, generating nearly 40% of the campus’s annual energy needs.

On November 3 – 4, 2025, architects, engineers, and researchers will gather in Bern, Switzerland, for the Advance Building Skin Conference – one of Europe’s leading forums on building envelopes and facade technologies.
This year’s program once again highlights the growing convergence between energy performance and architectural expression, featuring sessions on building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), adaptive facades, and solar-responsive materials.
With the increasing importance of design-driven approaches to sustainability, the conference offers a valuable platform to explore how solar technologies can enhance both the aesthetics and efficiency of the built environment.
