From January 13th to 17th, 2025, Munich hosted BAU 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials, and systems. Despite current economic challenges, the event attracted over 180,000 visitors and 2,230 exhibitors from 58 countries, with international exhibitors surpassing 50% of the total for the first time.
The key themes of this edition included resilient and climate-friendly construction, the transformation of urban and rural areas, resource efficiency, modularity, and cost-effective building. These topics were explored in specialized forums and presentations by renowned architects such as Carlo Ratti and Satoshi Ohashi.
BAU 2025 reaffirmed its central role in fostering dialogue and innovation in the construction industry, providing an essential platform for professionals and businesses in the sector.

During BAU 2025, the General Assembly of the MC2dot0 project also took place. This project is part of the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program. On the final day of the fair, the project coordinator, Roland Valckenborg, delivered a speech on the importance of mass customization in the integration of solar energy into buildings.
