Un changement de la taille des appartements \u00e9tait pratiquement impossible pour des raisons \u00e9conomiques. Bien qu&rsquo;il ait \u00e9t\u00e9 possible d&rsquo;ajouter un \u00e9tage sup\u00e9rieur avec des appartements plus grands on a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de garder des appartements de petite taille. L&rsquo;immeuble comprend aujourd&rsquo;hui 50 appartements de 1 \u00e0 3 pi\u00e8ces.<\/p>\n<p>Une soixantaine de personnes vivent dans le b\u00e2timent, ce qui repr\u00e9sente une surface per personne de 35 m\u00b2. Les besoins relativement \u00e9lev\u00e9s en eau chaude, combin\u00e9s aux grandes surfaces de la fa\u00e7ade et \u00e0 la suppression d&rsquo;un conduit d&rsquo;\u00e9vacuation d&rsquo;air du parking souterrain, ont permis le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un nouveau approche \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique: 180 m\u00b2 de capteurs solaires thermiques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans la fa\u00e7ade et un r\u00e9servoir d&rsquo;eau de 19 m de haut a \u00e9t\u00e9 ins\u00e9r\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;ancien conduit d&rsquo;\u00e9vacuation d&rsquo;air. Une pompe \u00e0 chaleur avec quatre sondes g\u00e9othermiques et 150 m\u00b2 de modules photovolta\u00efques ont aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9s sur le toit. Le b\u00e2timent est maintenant enti\u00e8rement \u00e9quip\u00e9e pour les besoins actuels. Les capteurs solaires verticaux prolongent le b\u00e2timent vers le haut et sont recouverts de verre dont l&rsquo;aspect passe du bronze \u00e0 l&rsquo;argent (Kromatix).
