Ein wesentliches Merkmal des Projekts ist die fassadenintegrierte Photovoltaik (BIPV), wobei die mit Photovoltaikmodulen verkleideten Fensterbr\u00fcstungen und -st\u00fcrze mehrere Funktionen erf\u00fcllen: Sie erzeugen Strom, spenden Schatten und reduzieren den L\u00e4rm der angrenzenden Autobahn. Zus\u00e4tzlich tragen die auf dem Flachdach installierten Photovoltaikmodule wesentlich zur Energieproduktion bei. Die Kombination beider Anlagen erzeugt etwa das Vierfache des Energiebedarfs des Geb\u00e4udes, und der \u00fcbersch\u00fcssige Strom wird in das Netz der Stadt Chur eingespeist. Um die Leistung des PV-Systems zu optimieren, wurde das Geb\u00e4ude mit fixen Verschattungselementen ausgestattet, die den Einsatz von motorisierten Jalousien \u00fcberfl\u00fcssig machen und eine \u00dcberhitzung verhindern. Hocheffiziente Fenster mit Dreifachverglasung verbessern die Isolierung zus\u00e4tzlich und senken den Gesamtenergiebedarf.
