Das neue Geb\u00e4ude ist etwa zweieinhalb Mal so gro\u00df wie der vorherige Bau, verbraucht aber nur halb so viel Energie.<br \/>\nDas Wohngeb\u00e4ude wurde als Solaranlage konzipiert. Die vorgefertigte Holzkonstruktion ist optimal ged\u00e4mmt, gleichzeitig nutzen die grossz\u00fcgigen Fenster auf passive Weise die Sonnenenergie. Sowohl das Dach als auch die Fassaden sind komplett mit Photovoltaik-Modulen bedeckt, die mehr Strom produzieren, als das Haus und seine Bewohner verbrauchen. Dies wurde auch f\u00fcr das statische System der Holzkonstruktion entsprechend ber\u00fccksichtigt. Ziel war die Vereinfachung und Kostenreduzierung durch die Verringerung der Anzahl unterschiedlich dimensionierter Modulformate.<\/p>\n<p>Die Fassadenmodule sind vertikal in einem 1-m-Raster angeordnet. Vertikal wurden vier verschiedene Modultypen eingesetzt, die sich aus den H\u00f6hen zwischen Dach, Fenstern und Sockel des Geb\u00e4udes ergeben. Bei den Balkonbr\u00fcstungen wurden die gleichen Module um 90\u00b0 gedreht. Durch die Kombination von verschiedenen L\u00e4ngen ist es m\u00f6glich, die unterschiedlichen Balkonvolumina damit auszugleichen.
